Hair Portraits 

These Hair Portraits are inspired by Victorian hair memorial art, where the hair of loved ones are crafted into intricate jewelry and framed scenes. The self-portrait and portrait of Mira use our own hair. The memorial portrait of David Agront was commissioned by his father and was embroidered using David's hair his father had kept. These portraits represent a slower way of remembering, using our own DNA, in an age of a plethora of disposable "selfies" in our digital era.
